Charlotte Gorski '11 Sales & Marketing Associate, Statler City, LLC.
In March of my Senior Year, I started as an intern at Events to a Tee, a multi-functional event planning company. By the end of the summer, my boss continued to give me more tasks in event planning and marketing to help me gain more experience while I looked for full-time employment. I assisted with social media updates, planning, and production of many different events including Ryan Miller’s Catwalk for Charity, Jim Kelly Celebrity Classic, and Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame Induction.
Working in the sales and marketing department at Statler City has truly been an exciting experience. With the Statler recently being renovated, it has created a new place to host events in the downtown Buffalo area so we are constantly receiving new inquiries. I help book and execute events such as weddings, fundraisers, business meetings, holiday parties, dances…etc.
Canisius has given me many opportunities that have influenced my career and adult life. As a student, I benefited from my professors’ encouragement to be involved. I developed time management, a strong work-ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while having to balance academic, athletic, and extracurricular endeavors. I have been able use these skills in my current position by organizing and coordinating the many facets of an event.
With a dual degree in Marketing and Management I not only learned basic business principles, but I also was challenged in an array of courses that introduced me to real-life business situations. Working so closely with customers seeking top-notch events, it is impertinent that I put value in my work. Through my Canisius College education, I became prepared and learned a certain standard that I need to reach to deliver quality and for that I am truly grateful!
