Claire L. Kovacs, PhD, is an assistant professor of art history in the Department of Fine Arts. She was a postdoctoral fellow in modern and contemporary art as well as visiting assistant professor at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Kovacs’ PhD is from the University of Iowa, where her major examination field was 19th century French art. She holds an MA and BA in art history from Case Western Reserve University. In addition to her teaching experience, Kovacs is an experienced art curator. She is fluent in French and literate in both German and Italian.
