Kathleen Contrino Visiting Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice
Dr. Kathleen Contrino, a graduate of University at Buffalo with both a J.D and Phd in Sociology, is a professor of criminal justice teaching Introduction to Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice and Criminology. In addition, Dr. Contrino has taught criminal justice and sociology at Buffalo State College and the University at Buffalo. Dr. Contrino practices family and criminal law in Niagara County where she serves as a team member on the Niagara County Family Treatment Court. Her research areas include, drug court, sociology of law, gender issues in criminal justice and juvenile justice. Dr. Contrino’s scholarly work includes Compliance and Learning in an Intervention Program for Partner-Violent Men published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence as well as presentations at conferences. Dr. Contrino was also responsible for planning and implementing the New York State Victim Assistance Academy held at Buffalo State College in 2005 and 2006. Dr. Contrino’s work experience includes all areas of the criminal justice system: police, courts, corrections and research.
