Kathleen Stow-Ortiz Adjunct Professor
Kathy Ortiz, M.S., is an experienced school administrator. She has been the founding principal of two Florida, K-8 charter schools and the director of a high school alternative program overseeing five locations in Polk County. Ortiz has been active in TESOL/ Bilingual Education for thirteen years and has instructed teachers in master’s level academic programs at four universities. Through her background in curriculum and instruction, Ortiz has also served on statewide FCAT Committees and taught Florida teacher certification courses. She speaks Spanish fluently and holds a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Ortiz is in the dissertation stage in pursuit of her doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University.
