"I entered Canisius College in Fall 2004. At the time, all students were required to take at least two semesters of a foreign language. Due to my own heritage and countless stories of my grandfather's time spent in Germany, I decided it was time to put seven years of Spanish behind me and learn a new language. Dr. Böhm's enthusiasm made learning the language a lot of fun. When my two semesters were over, I didn't think twice about adding German to International Relations as a major. From then on, I was preparing for a semester abroad in Dortmund. Upon arriving in Germany in Spring 2007, my five semesters of instruction allowed me to converse with new friends, in German, and choose courses taught in German as well. The German major at Canisius allowed me to explore the world and connect more deeply with the people I met. It contributed to an amazing four years at Canisius College."
