Lance J. Richards, GPHR, SPHR VP Office of Innovation, Kelly Services, Inc.
Kelly’s Office of Innovation is tasked with identifying and incubating disruptive and quantum innovations in products and services, as well as nurturing front-line innovations throughout the organization. His objectives include development and evangelizing of these initiatives, bringing HR innovation to clients… innovation needed in an HR 3.0 world.
A sought-after HR Strategist and Futurist, Lance is both an educator and advisor on the evolution of the workforce and the workplace, as well as a frequent speaker and an accomplished author.
Before his work with Kelly's Innovation function, Lance was the Global Practice Leader for Kelly's HR Consulting Practice, where he worked with the various business units of KellyOCG to help architect solutions for clients with global expansion plans. Translation: He helped clients cut through the workforce challenges arising from rapid globalization.
Lance also spends a good deal of time on thought leadership activities, whether that’s an opening keynote for a SHRM State Conference, a guest lecture at a university in Asia, or a workshop on globalization in Europe. He also authors white papers on current issues affecting HR professionals. Previously based in Singapore, he now camps out at Kelly's World Headquarters in Detroit (Troy), Michigan, USA. He originally joined Kelly in 2003 as head of HR for Kelly's $2bn international business unit. He has over 30 years of HR experience, and has spent the last 20 years of his career focused on HR and globalization.
He is a Visiting Professor of HRM at the Sasin Graduate Business School in Bangkok, where he teaches MBA and EMBA coursework. His prior HR experience came from firms such as Verizon, Bell Canada and British Telecom.
