Students entering the job market immediately after graduation are qualified to pursue jobs in manufacturing, research and development, and the health care industry in such areas as radiology or X-ray technology, laser and optical instrumentation, technical sales and mathematical modeling. Canisius alumni who majored in physics hold such positions as operations director for an aerospace firm, professor of physics and collaborative services project manager for a major corporation. The program also provides excellent preparation for careers in patent law, management, and operations research. Many students pursue further study at the graduate level in physics or other related scientific fields. Physics alumni have earned graduate degrees at such schools as Marquette University, the Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of North Carolina, the University of Maryland, and the State University of New York at Buffalo.
