2012-2013 Pre-Med Acceptances

Canisius graduates matriculated at 15 different medical, dental, and pharmacy programs in the Fall of 2013.

In 2012-2013, 18 of our 23 first-time applicants recommended through our Health Science Advisory and Recommendation Committee were accepted directly to allopathic and/or osteopathic medical schools. 2 additional applicants were accepted into post-baccalaureate programs linked to medical schools. We also had a number of graduates who have been out of college several years apply giving a total of 25 graduates of Canisius accepted at allopathic and/or osteopathic medical schools. 24 of these matriculated at ten different medical schools.

We are pleased that our graduates are choosing to stay in WNY and surrounding regions in significant numbers, making the University at Buffalo Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine and Pharmacy and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine their first choices.

Three freshmen and sophomore students who applied into Early Assurance Programs in 2012-2013 were accepted - one at University at Buffalo College of Dental Medicine  and two at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. We also had 7 new students matriculate at Canisius this past fall through our Joint/Early Assurance programs: 4 LECOM Medicine, 1 UB Dental, 1 LECOM Dental and 1 SUNY Optometry.
