| Late-May | Search committee meets with John Reid on campus to focus on the search process, the qualities and qualifications of the next president, and our hopes for the college’s future. | |
| Late-June | Search committee meets a second time with John Reid who presents a list of individuals (with cover letter, resume and references) interested in applying to the presidency. The search committee begins to identify semifinalist candidates. | |
| Late-July | Search committee meets a third time with John Reid who presents further individuals (with cover letter, resume and references) interested in applying to the presidency. The search committee finishes identifying semifinalist candidates | |
| Early August | Search committee travel team interviews semifinalist candidates in Chicago | |
| Mid-August | Search committee meets a fourth time with John Reid. Together they discuss all interview information and select the finalists. | |
| Late September -early October | Finalist candidates visit Buffalo and the campus for interviews with the search committee and groups of faculty, students, staff, alumni and administrators on campus. | |
| Mid-October | Search committee meets a fifth time with John Reid to review the finalists’ campus interviews. The committee formulates its recommendation to the Board of Trustees. | |
| October 19, 2009 | Board of Trustees hears the search committee’s presentations on the finalist candidates and moves towards a decision on the 24th President of Canisius College. |
