While you are busy finishing up your senior year of high school, we are busy preparing for your arrival as a college freshman in August!
What You Need to Know About Housing...
Freshmen housing assignments are based upon the student's date of deposit to become a resident student. The earlier their deposit is, the better the chance of them receiving the type of room they are hoping for. It is important to note that some of the room types are very limited, such as the bathroom corner suites in Bosch and Frisch. If students request specific roommates, the average deposit date will be taken. Once a student deposits to be a resident student, they must fill out the online housing preference form, using the Canisius username and password that will be sent to them from Admissions. Students can log-on and make as many changes as they wish on that form until June 13, 2012 at 5 pm. After that date, the form will be taken down and the assignment process will begin. Students should expect to receive their assignment email no later than June 29, 2012.
Instructions on how to fill out the housing preference form can be found on the actual preference form itself. If you have any questions or problems filling out the form, please call or email us! To contact us by phone, call (716) 888-8300 Mondays-Fridays between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. To reach us by email, please send an email to housing@canisius.edu.
The scheduled move-in date for freshmen residents is part of New Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 22nd. Residents may arrive anytime between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm to check-in. Upon arrival to campus, you will be greeted by the volunteers who will make sure you are where you need to be! Residents checking-in to Frisch Hall should arrive by way of Hughes Avenue. Residents checking-in to Bosch Hall or Dugan Hall should arrive by way of Eastwood Avenue.
The student will then be asked to pick-up their keys in Palisano Pavilion. In addition, freshmen residents will also check-in for New Student Orientation in Palisano Pavilion when picking up their keys. In the meantime, volunteers will assist you with helping moving items to your room. As soon as your car is unloaded, we ask that you move your vehicle to the parking ramp located on Jefferson Avenue.
