How to Build Your Housing Team

Step 1
Log-in to your myCanisius portal. On the righthand side there should be an icon labeled "Housing". Click on this icon to take you to the housing selection site.

*Please note: Only current sophomore and juniors will be permitted to log-on to the site beginning November 15, 2011. Current Freshmen will not have the icon appear until February 1, 2012, when it is time for their housing selection process to begin!

 

You will first be required to update your Emergency Contacts. Even if the information has remained the same, you must click on "Emergency Contacts" under "Choices", and resubmit the information.

When you return to the main page after updating your Emergency Contacts, the choice to "Create or Join A Team of Roommates" will appear under "Choices". Click on this option.

If you are not the first member of your team to log-in you will need to click "Create a New Team."

If one of your team members has already created the group, you will need to click "Add Yourself to a Team."

Step 2
Create a new team.




If you are the first of your group to log-in, click "Create a New Team."  Create a team name and team password.  Select a preferred room type (ie 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-person).  *If your team would like to live in one of the two Junior/Senior Villages (one will be in the Village Townhouses and the other in the Delavan Townhouses), then you MUST select this on this screen. You will not be able to choose this once the team building option is over. We will need to hold enough rooms in these areas, so it is necessary that you choose this option if you are interested in being assigned there. Click submit.

Log-out and tell your team name and password to the residents you want to live with so that they can join the team.  Each individual must add themselves to the team.  You will not be able to add or remove another person from the team. 


Step 2
Add yourself to a team.


If you are not the first person for your team to log-in, select "Add Yourself to a Team."  Enter your team name and team password.  You must receive this information from the person who created your team.  Click submit and log-out.



You will not be able to add yourself to one team if you are already a member of another team.  To add yourself to a new team, please first follow the directions below to remove yourself from a team before adding yourself to another team.

Remove Yourself From A Team


If you would like to remove yourself from a team, select "Remove Yourself From a Team."  Enter the team name and password of the team you are removing yourself from.



Go back to the main page to add yourself to another team or create a new team.

You will not be able to add or remove another person from a team.  You will be able to see the other members of a team after you log-in and join the team.
