Operation Snowbound is a unique program designed by the Office of Residence Life that provides Canisius College commuter students the opportunity to experience living on campus. Students will share a room with a roommate and become an integral part of the residence hall community. Avoid the cold and snow or winter, retreat to the warmth of friends and new experiences. Be SNOWBOUND with us!

HOUSING CHOICES:
Housing options are based on availability. There are no spaces available in the freshmen areas for Session 1, there will be space for freshmen for Session 2, however. There are spaces available for upperclass males and females in the Delavan Townhouses, Main Humboldt Townhouses, Dugan Hall (female only Session 1) and the Village Townhouses.  Students will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

MEAL PLAN:
A Griff's Bucks plan can be opened with a minimum deposit of $25.00 Freshmen Snowbound participants who decide to become permanent residents when the program ends will be required to purchase a freshmen meal plan for the remainder of the spring semester.

PARKING:
If you have a car, your commuter permit will be upgraded to a resident permit for the time you are in housing. You will receive the permit when you pick up your keys. This only applies to upper-class areas, as freshmen residents and sophomores in Dugan receive D-permits for the parking garage on Jefferson.

ROOM ASSIGNMENTS

Students will be assigned to rooms/apartments with existing residents and it will be on a first come, first serve basis. Requests for specific roommates can be made, but not all requests may be possible.

BILLING

The cost of the session will be billed to your account. The bill will be sent to the same address as your tuition bill.

APPLICATIONS

Applications can be found on the Housing Forms website.  Students interested in the Snowbound program should fill out the General Housing Application, on which they should indicate whether they are applying for the 1st, 2nd, or both sessions. Please print one and return it to the Office of Residence Life. Submissions should be made as soon as possible. Acceptance to the program is based on availability and assignments will be prioritized by the date of application submission.
