living learning community

What is a Living Learning Community?

A Living Learning Community gives students an opportunity to live together with others that have similar majors and interests. Living in one of these communities gives students a great opportunity to meet students that share similar passions, attend programs that are much more personalized, and incorporate academics into the Residence Hall.

Ignatian Floor

New for the 2011-2012 academic year is the Ignatian Floor!
The Ignatian Floor is named for St. Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuits. For centuries, Ignatius inspired people to grow in their religious faith and to be "contemplatives in action" and "men and women for and with others".

  • This floor exists to help students deepen their commitment to spirituality, community, and justice.
  • Students on this floor will make a positive and lasting contribution to Canisius College and the surrounding Buffalo area in the spirit of Saint Ignatius.
  • Students will have an opportunity for spiritual growth, service, and reflection.
  • Father Bucki SJ resides on this floor and is available to assist the students.
  • Students will have access to a Reflection room that allows for meditation, and peaceful study.
