What is a Living Learning Community?
A Living Learning Community gives students an opportunity to live together with others that have similar majors and interests. Living in one of these communities gives students a great opportunity to meet students that share similar passions, attend programs that are much more personalized, and incorporate academics into the Residence Hall.
Freshmen Themed Housing Areas:
There are four different themed housing areas offered for our first year students.
Ignatian |
Creative Writing |
Freshman Honors |
Freshman Science |
Ignatian Floor
New for the 2011-2012 academic year is the Ignatian Floor! The Ignatian Floor is named for St. Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuits. For centuries, Ignatius inspired people to grow in their religious faith and to be "contemplatives in action" and "men and women for and with others".

Creative Writing Floor
New for the 2011-2012 academic year is the Creative Writing Floor!
In order to live on this floor, students must be enrolled in the All-College Honors program.

If you are an incoming freshman and are interested in living in any of the four themed living areas above, you will need to mark this on your online Housing Preference form by June 12th at 5 PM.
If you would like any additional information regarding these areas, email housing@canisius.edu.
