Recognizing the critical role of faculty in the success of any institution’s service-learning program, the Office of Service-Learning at Canisius College hosted the 1st Annual Service-Learning Celebration of Gratitude Reception on April 8, 2009, which was attended by about 30 faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education and Human Services, and the School of Business.
Each faculty member received a certificate as a token of appreciation for their willingness to be innovators in the area of academic service-learning, incorporating elements of service into their course or in some cases redesigning a course around a service component.
The Office of Service-Learning thanks every faculty member who incorporated service-learning into their courses this past year and in previous years. It is our hope that many more professors will choose to participate in service-learning in the coming year. This year, our 2nd Annual Service-Learning Celebration of Gratitude Reception will be held on March 18, 2010 at 3:30 pm in Grupp Fireside Lounge in the Student Center.
