Compass House
The mission of Compass House is to provide runaway and homeless youth with safe shelter and services in an atmosphere that supports dignity, respect and self-reliance, through a voluntary and mutually agreed upon process. The Compass House Resource Center is a non-residential case-management program for homeless youth, or youth at risk of homelessness, 16 through 20 years of age. The Compass House shelter is a 13 bed emergency shelter for youth (both male and female) 12 through 17 years of age, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Service opportunities: Job training, life books (help residents with scrap booking), physical activity or the arts. Participation in a Life Skills Program gives volunteers the opportunity to make life skills presentations to residents on a variety of topics including: interview preparation, budgeting, financial planning, or personal enrichment. Tutoring and story time with children are also available.

TRY is a transitional housing program for women between the ages of 16 and 25 which offers a loving and supportive structured environment to women who are homeless and who have suffered from abuse, violence and victimization.
Service opportunities: Tutoring, preparing small presentations on life skill topics such as anger management, self esteem, personal budgeting and other independent life skills. Consult the director to see what you may do.
