During the fall 2004 semester, Sport Administration Director Staci Carney Studesville proposed developing an organization for the Master of Sport Administration students at Canisius College. Subsequently, a meeting was held involving the interested parties within the program and the Master of Sport Administration Society was established.
The Canisius College Master of Sport Administration Society works to provide an atmosphere that fosters professional development for its members. That experience comes through networking and building relationships within the sports community as well as creating, planning and executing events. The MSA Society is dedicated to increasing awareness of the program in the community and in the academic and professional world.
The Society is in its fourth year and has approximately 15 members. The executive council is comprised of four members; president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. There is also a three-member council who will have a vote in all matters. The Council abides by an official constitution and mission statement.

Council members are currently deciding on a destination for the Spring 2008 student MSA trip where students tour different sport facilities and meet with front office members from various organizations. The bi-annual event gives students opportunities for professional development and academic enrichment.
