Students in the undergraduate sports management program are trained to effectively manage in a wide variety of sports-related fields. From the time they enter the program, they study the fundamental philosophy of sport, in both personal and professional settings. Students investigate the principles and processes of sports marketing and sales, and examine all aspects of sports promotion, sponsorship, advertising, merchandising and distribution. They examine the economics and finance of sport, as well as the law as it applies to today’s wide world of sports.
When they graduate from Canisius, students score jobs as sports agents, athletic directors, recruiters and scouts, team marketing professionals, public relations officers and contract specialists, to name a few.
