Canisius College Graduate Assistantship in Athletic Training

Canisius College is a private, independent college. A Buffalo landmark since 1870, Canisius College has woven itself intimately into the history of the Western New York community by offering its citizens a quality education in the liberal arts, sciences, health care and business administration. Established as a liberal arts college in the Jesuit tradition, the college has a school of Education and Human Services, School of Business, School of Arts and Sciences and a graduate school. Canisius is a Division I member of the NCAA and competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program is accredited by CAATE.

The two-year athletic training assistantship is offered through the Department of Sports Medicine, Health and Human Performance and involves laboratory and teaching responsibilities, and clinical supervision of students enrolled in the athletic training education program. Additional coverage for Division I athletics, as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer, as needed.

Eligibility: Qualified graduates of a CAATE accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree with a major in Athletic Training. Candidates must be certified by the BOC or be eligible for the certification exam.

Stipend: Graduate assistants receive $6,000 for a ten month academic year. Tuition waivers are available for each academic year.
