General Tips for a Successful Budget Request Form
 

ALWAYS provide proof for requests.

  • If you have a speaker, prove that they have been contacted. Attach an e-mail or contract stating their fees. Also, if you are anticipating an event for Montante make sure you book it well in advance. Not having a location booked for your expected date can affect your chances of funding.
  • If you have a conference, prove the dates of the conference and that it is a real conference. The Finance Committee DOES check. It would also help to explain why you feel your club would benefit from this conference (is it required?).
  • If you held the event last year, attach receipts proving how much it cost. If you ran out of supplies last year, explain why you would expect a higher quantity this year.

Explain the purpose of your event! Showing why it relates to your club’s mission will only help your prospects for funding.

When you include “current members” only include active members. “Active” does not include a person who showed up once and never came back. The Finance Committee knows that 100 people are not really active members of your club. (Especially when they find their names on your list.)
