Each year the Undergraduate Student Association's Lobbying Committee organizes a trip to Albany, the New York State capitol. The purpose of the trip is to meet with representatives to discuss state funding for higher education and student financial aid. Every year in February 25 to 30 students travel to Albany. The trip not only helps ensure that financial aid will not be cut, but it is also a great opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of how the state's political system works. This trip is completely free to students as the costs of travel, lodging, and meals are paid for by the Undergraduate Student Association. If you are interested in applying for the trip please contact either the Chair of the Lobbying Committee or Brian Smith, the Director of Leadership Development (smith@canisius.edu).
