Appointments are not necessary to see the campus nurse. However, students needing vaccinations, blood work or screenings prior to their physical examinations are given nurse appointments since these services generally take more time. Otherwise, students are seen by the nurse on a walk in basis. The nurse will schedule an appointment with the college health care provider if additional evaluation, care and treatment is needed.
Students wishing to see the college physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant but are not able to come for a nurse evaluation first, are strongly encouraged to make an appointment. To schedule an appointment with one of the health care providers on campus, students should call the Student Health Center at 888-2610.
Students are encouraged to come to the Health Center or call the Health Center in the morning to obtain a same day appointment. Waiting until the afternoon and /or not having an appointment may limit access to providers and delay care and treatment. This is especially important during the cold and flu season when many students are sick and in need of medical care.
The Student Health Center staff understands how busy our students are. We
work hard to limit waiting time. On most days, students wait less than 15 minutes to be seen by a provider.
