canisius commutes

Please bear in mind that whether you are living on or off campus, it is your responsibility to maintain control over your actions.  Please respect your neighbors at all hours of the day or night.

Failure to adhere to Canisius policy and local laws may result in withdrawl from the college, fines and/or jail time.

It is illegal to:

  • Supply alcohol to ANYONE under the age of 21.
  • Sell alcohol to minors.
  • Drink and drive. This goes for everyone.

New York State has a zero tolerance policy for minors who drink and drive.  If an underage person attempts to operate a vehicle under the influence, they are subject to having their license revoked.

  • Do not allow anyone to drink and drive.  It is your responsibility to keep your friends and other people around them safe.

Canisius Alcohol and Drug Policy

Do not block windows/doors.  An escape needs to be available in case of an emergency.

Do not allow too many people into your house.  If there is a fire, injury and even death may occur.

Please remember that it is illegal to go to the bathroom outside.  If this is the case, there are most likely too many people at your party.  At this point, things may get out of hand and Public Safety will arrive to terminate the party.

Keep your doors and windows closed during a party.

Please be sure to keep the noise level down.  Your neighbors do not appreciate it. Remember, they are not all Canisius College students.

Keep everyone inside.

Keep things under control.  Make sure you know everyone at your party.

If you are serving alcohol at your party, make sure you have food and non-alcoholic beverages available.
