Porto Alegre, Brazil
Universidad Federal Do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), is a century-old public institution with approximately 24,000 undergraduate students. UFRGS has four campuses, and it is important to understand they are located in different sections of the city, especially when scheduling classes.
UFRGS does not have student housing for international students, however, students can find housing in apartment complexes or with a host family.
Brazilian Friend, a program developed by UFRGS, helps international students find a Brazilian student who is willing to assist them in various aspects of the exchange program. As an international student in this program, you will gain insight into Brazilian culture, have the opportunity to make friends, and be able to practice Portuguese before arriving in Brazil.
