Jesuit Community Challenge Gift
The Canisius College Jesuit Community pledged $1 million to A Legacy of Leadership: The Campaign for Canisius College with the direction that it be used as an annual fund challenge. Once the challenge is completed, the Jesuit Community gift will support the Jesuits of Loyola Hall Scholarship Fund and the college's Urban Leadership Learning Community Program.
To extend the impact of their gift, they invite Canisius alumni and friends to also make gifts to the annual fund that are above and beyond their usual contributions.
The Canisius Jesuit Community is home to 22 Jesuits who are affiliated with Canisius College, Canisius High School, and various pastoral ministries in the Buffalo Diocese. Jesuit salaries are pooled, funds are subtracted for collective living expenses and any surplus is invested and returned to Jesuit-related projects. The Jesuits' gift represents revenue from their collective salaries and additional investments.
With this extraordinary demonstration of generosity, the Jesuits have shown that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can be a part of what promises to be a defining moment in Canisius College history.
