Admission Requirements To be considered for admission to Canisius College's master's degree program in Adolescence Education – Social Studies, candidates are required to submit the following items:
A completed graduate application.
Two (2) official undergraduate transcripts from the degree granting institution.
Evidence of teacher certification (may be complete or in progress).
Two letters of recommendation.
Program Start Dates New graduate students are admitted three times a year: Spring (January), Summer (May-June) and Fall (late August). There are no deadlines for applying; we operate on a rolling admissions basis, evaluating applications on a continuous basis. Students should complete their applications at least one month prior to the term they wish to begin.
Evaluating Applications When evaluating applicants for admission we look for a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA in your undergraduate program. Applications with less than a 2.7 GPA will be reviewed by the program director for an admissions decision and may include additional requirements (e.g., personal interview, GRE, etc.)
