The Tutoring Center is located in Old Main 317.
What are your hours? Do you have evening hours?
The Tutoring Center is open Sunday, 6-10pm; Monday through Thursday from 10am to 10pm and Friday 10am to 2pm.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Come in whenever you have the time! Please be aware that waiting times can occur, especially during peak hours.
What tutors are available?
During our hours of operation, tutors who specialize in essay construction and editing and mathematics are always available. Tutors of different academic disciplines are available at various hours throughout the week. Specialized scheduling can be arranged, if needed.
Are your services free?
Yes. There is no fee for tutoring provided through the Tutoring Center.
Who is eligible?
Any student at Canisius College, whether an undergraduate or graduate student, is welcome to come to the Tutoring Center.
What services does the Tutoring Center provide?
The Tutoring Center offers help in a variety of ways. Tutors are always available to assist with essay construction and editing, as well as mathematics. The tutors can also help you understand difficult concepts or readings and help you prepare for an exam. Any tutor can help you to develop better study habits, time management, and better note-taking skillts.

Will my professor know that I came?
Yes. When you come into the Tutoring Center, the tutor with whom you worked will fill out a session form with your information and the focus of the session. Professors are notified on a weekly basis with a list of their students who attended a tutoring session(s). Professors have a positive view of their students attending the Tutoring Center.
What should I bring with me?
The more you bring with you, the better. If you are coming to discuss a paper, you should bring a hard copy of that paper, the assignment sheet for the paper, and any resources you may have used to write the paper (a textbook, journal articles, etc). If you are coming to prepare an assignment or for a test or exam, you should bring your textbook, any notes you have on the course material, handouts from the professor, and a review sheet (if provided).
