Business Coaching Program

October 2011 - 2012

PROGRAM
: Classes begin in September and March and run for 12 months.  Selection is based on the candidate’s application, need, and interview. In this program, participants are paired with successful business owners and professionals (coaches).

ENTRANCE: The first step is to apply. Your application will be reviewed by a committee for eligibility. Next, you will have a personal interview with a member of the WBC coaching committee. Be prepared to supply proof of eligibility at your interview. The following conditions may apply: 
  1. Be an established business, filing tax returns
  2. Not be in start-up business
  3. Personally manage and direct your business
  4. Have a business checking account
  5. Have a structured, tangible place/location to conduct business
  6. Have a formal business tax structure - DBA or corporation
  7. Be the primary business owner
At the time of your interview, you will be required to submit the following:
  1. Written goals/expectations of what you would like to accomplish over the next twelve (12) months
  2. Current Business Plan (if available)
GOALS: You will complete and/or update your business plan. We will review the list of goals and expectations you provide during the interview process, help you determine feasibility, and start you on the process of achieving your goals over the next twelve (12) months. Our mission is to help you understand, expand, and grow your business to a new level of success. This program will also provide outstanding networking opportunities.

COMMITMENT: In addition to the program investment, your time is the biggest commitment you will make. Plan on a minimum of eight (8) hours a month dedicated to working on your business, not in your business.

Annual work plan includes: 
  • Education roundtable meetings will be held on the third Thursday of November, January, May and July from  8 - 10 am.  Roundtables scheduled for the third Thursday in September and March include special programming for graduating participants.  
  • Monthly meetings with your coach for a minimum of one (1) hour.  Set your own times to meet with your coach for one-on-one meetings.
  • Working assignments that require an additional 2-10 hours in preparation for your next one-on-one meeting with your coach.

INVESTMENT: $750.00 program investment.

New! As a member of the Coaching Program, you can take advantage of special pricing for a membership to our Women-in-Networking (WIN) program. Usually offered at $249, you can add this additional program for $100.

LOCATION: The location of the one-on-one meetings will be at the agreement of the participant and the coach.

COACHES: Coaches are successful business owners and professionals who are leaders in their fields. All of the coaches will go through training and will have structure to their guidance to best help your specific business needs. The WBC executive staff will match the individuals with the coach.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Bi-monthly meetings/training sessions (total of 6) with business experts
  • Monthly one-on-one meetings with your coach

  • Networking/exposure opportunities to area business leaders (ie. banking, consulting, marketing)
