August 2006 win Speed Networking; 60 women business owners attended sharing leads, advice, and peer mentorship.
On November 17, 2005, the Canisius College Women's Business Center was host to the 2005 New York State Small Business Advocate of the Year award ceremony. New York State Lieutenant Governor Mary Donohue presented Raymond M. Nowicki, Managing Partner of Nowicki & Co., of Buffalo, with the 2005 Small Business Advocate of the Year Award. The awards are presented annually to recognize outstanding contributions to New York's small-business community. Mr. Nowicki is a Canisius College graduate and has donated many hours of free counseling in the past to the clients of Women's Business Center. In the spring, he will be teaching a Finance for Small Business course at the WBC.

On August 9, 2005, the Women's Business Center held its first annual Summer Social at the Palisano Pavilion at Canisius College.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton visited the Canisius College campus Friday, August 6, 2004 to announce a partnership between Count Me In and Micro Biz Buffalo, which will provide loan capital and training to micro entrepreneurs in Buffalo.
At a news conference held in the college’s Demerly Hall, Sen. Clinton outlined the multifaceted collaboration, which is aimed at the economic revitalization on Jefferson Avenue. Plans include several local elements, including a Canisius College initiative that enables its business school students to provide business training to micro entrepreneurs.
