Best Value Schools in the Regional Universities – North category 

U.S. News ranked Canisius 10th among Best Value Schools in the Regional Universities – North category. The Best Value Schools ranking takes into account a school’s academic quality (based on U.S. News’ Best Colleges ranking) and the net cost of attendance for students who receive the average level of need-based financial aid. 


America’s Best Colleges - Regional Universities North 


Canisius earned the 23rd spot in the top tier of U.S. News and World Report’s 2019 rankings of America’s Best Regional Universities – North. The college was recognized for its first-year student retention rate, its average graduation rate, small class sizes, its student-faculty ratio and its average alumni giving rate.  


Best Colleges for Your Money - Money Magazine 

According to the magazine’s 2018-19 “Best Colleges for your Money” list, Canisius is among the top third of all high-value colleges ranked nationally and the top private institution in Western New York. The rankings took into consideration 727 schools and ranked them based on 26 measures of educational quality, affordability and alumni success.


Best Colleges for Veterans  

Canisius’ strong support of veterans also earned the college recognition from U.S. News & World Report.  Canisius ranked 9th (for the second consecutive year) among regional universities in the North on the publication’s list of Best Colleges for Veterans.  To be considered for this ranking, schools must participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program, be certified for the GI Bill and have 20 or more enrolled students using GI Bill benefits to fund their tuition and fees.  Schools also had to be in the top half of U.S. News’ Best Colleges ranking to be considered. 


Mid-Career Salary in Upstate NY 


Mid-career salaries for Canisius College graduates who hold bachelor’s degrees are among the highest in New York State, according to PayScale’s latest College Salary Report. The compensation-data firm based in Seattle, WA ranked Canisius No. 24 among 54 upstate New York colleges and universities, estimating the mid-career salaries of the college’s alumni to be $88,000.
