Contemporary Writers Series: Sally Rooney
Sally Rooney was born in 1991 in Castlebar, County Mayo, and holds degrees in English and American Literature from Trinity College, Dublin. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Granta, and The London Review of Books. She is the author of two novels: Conversations with Friends, which earned her The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, and Normal People, which was named Watersones’ Book of the Year and the Costa Book Award, and is being adapted by Hulu as a 12-episode television series. Currently she is a 2019-2020 Fellow at The New York Public Library's Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers.
