Conversations in Christ: Afro-Semitic Experience

Montante Cultural Center, Montante Lower Reception Room
Saturday, October 26, 2019
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

The Afro-Semitic Experience is a band of African-American and Jewish-American musicians who are dedicated to preserving, promoting and expanding the rich cultural and musical heritage of the Jewish and African Diasporas. Their music has been heard around the United States—the group has performed at festivals, in churches, synagogues, colleges, and wherever people come together to share their love and respect for community. Their performances are celebrations of community and culture that invariably get audiences up and dancing. This is a band beyond category—their music is an intricate tapestry of spiritual, world-beat, funk, jazz, cantorial, gospel, salsa, swing . . . soul-driven music. Their concerts are celebrations where they play great music, tell stories, and offer a positive and meaningful message: Unity in the Community.
Co-Sponsors of this event include Temple Beth Zion and ArtsCanisius.

The Afro-Semitic Experience will also perform at Temple Beth Zion, 804 Delaware Ave., on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 7:00pm. Free and open to the public.
