“Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?” A Conversation About MLK’s Vision for America

October 23, 2020

Buffalo, NY – Join Canisius University and Juneteenth Inc. for a series of discussions about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s book Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?  Each discussion will measure the relevancy of Dr. King’s message with current times.

The first discussion, set to take place via Zoom on Wednesday, October 28 at 5:30 p.m., focuses on what “rights” mean to each citizen of the United States.  Participants will explore the relevance and meaning of the following statement, which King includes in the appendix of his book: “The concept of democracy is being pushed to deeper levels of meaning, from formal exercise of voting, still an issue in much of the United States for many Negroes, to effective participation in major decisions.”  Click here to learn more about the project and see a preview of our guest panelist.
