All-College Honors Students Earn Griffin Scholarships

BUFFALO, NY - Abigail V. Fronckowiak ’14 and Arianna E. Opper ’13 are the recipients of Canisius University Griffin Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to All-College Honors students who assume year-long leadership roles on campus and/or in the community. Students receive a $1,000 tuition waiver per semester.

Fronckowiak, a sophomore adolescence education and history dual major, is an intern at the St. Monica’s Scholars Program of The Nativity Miguel Middle School of Buffalo. She developed and coordinates three afterschool programs at St. Monica’s, including a review course for the Catholic high school entrance exam. 

Opper, a junior biology major, serves as chair for the 2012 Canisius University Relay for Life, which benefits the American Cancer Society. She leads fundraising efforts, organizes committee meetings, coordinates volunteers and is responsible for all event logistics.
