From L-R: Brian Smith, Susan (Colmerauer) Polvino ᾿82, Mike Kochczynski ᾿08, MS ᾿12 and Bill Maher ᾿89

February 26, 2018

Nearly 100 DiGamma Honor Society members gathered for the tradition of inducting “men and women for others” who distinguish themselves working for the advancement of the college and who provide exemplary service on behalf of students and alumni. Four honorees were inducted into DiGamma during a ceremony on February 9 at the Hotel Henry.

Congratulations to the following 2018 inductees:

  • Michael Kochczynski ᾿08, MS ᾿12, client success lead, Mongoose Research Inc.
  • Susan (Colmerauer) Polvino ᾿82, senior vice president of investment research, Citigroup

  • William Maher ᾿89, director of athletics
  • Brian Smith, director of international student partnerships/study abroad

President John Hurley, assisted by James Schofield MS ᾿73 and Rev. Benjamin Fiore, SJ, pastor of St. Michael’s Church in Buffalo, performed the tapping ceremony for the inductees.

Originated in 1925 as a way to honor student leaders, the former Coffin Club was established to acknowledge those who “had done so much to put Canisius to the fore in every line whether in scholarly activities, athletics, dramatics or in just faithful service to their alma mater.”
