Canisius Confers Distinguished Alumni Award Upon Six Graduates

BUFFALO, NY – The Canisius University Alumni Association presented its Distinguished Alumni Award to six graduates of the college, during ceremonies on Saturday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the college’s Montante Cultural Center.  Presented annually, the Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes Canisius graduates who have distinguished themselves as leaders in their chosen professions.  The 2012 Distinguished Alumni recipients are:

Petrina V. Genco ’70, MD, director of the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) and consultant at the Divisions of Laboratory and Transplant Medicine at Mayo Clinic Florida;

Christopher M. Kelly ’83, partner-in-charge at the Cleveland office of Jones Day, where he oversees the U.S. side of the firm’s capital markets practice. 

Hon. Anthony M. Masiello ’69, president of Masiello, Martucci, Calabrese and Associates and former three-term mayor of the city of Buffalo;

James C. Metzler ’72, vice president for small firm interests for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA);

J. Donald Schumacher ’72, PsyD, president and chief executive officer of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization; and

William P. Sisler ’69, PhD, director of Harvard University Press.
