Canisius Students Advance to NYS Business Plan Challenge

BUFFALO, NY –  Two Canisius University teams from the WNY Student 2 Biz Challenge,  a Western New York Regional Business Plan Competition, have advanced to the New York State Business Plan Competition on April 26 in Albany, NY.  

The Canisius teams include:

  • Challengage, which won first place in the Product/Service Category. The team includes Paul Klopfer, a senior professional accounting and finance dual major and Josh Katz, a senior financial engineering major at Binghamton University.
  • MyLinkFace, which won first place in the Social/E-ship/Non-Profit Category. The team includes Amy Creathorn, a senior entrepreneurship major, Calvin Caruso III, a senior management and entrepreneurship dual major and Jason Frizlen, a senior management and entrepreneurship dual major.   

The WNY Student 2 Biz Challenge, sponsored by the WNY Consortium of Higher Education, was held Thursday, April 18 in the Montante Cultural Center. In summer of 2013, a number of WNY winners will be offered the opportunity to incubate their businesses for up to a year on their home campuses.
