BUFFALO, NY – The Center for Psychosexual Health will hold a one-day conference on gender dysphoria at Canisius University, on Saturday, November 2, from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The conference is being sponsored by the Canisius University Department of Counseling and Human Services, and the University at Buffalo Department of Pediatrics School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
The conference will address gender dysphoria assessment and treatment matters, as well as controversies. Specifically, program workshops will identify criteria for gender dysphoria, as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), long-term outcomes for children with gender dysphoria, descriptions on gender affirming surgery, treatment options, and controversies surrounding the treatment of gender dysphoria.
Registration for the one-day conference is $175 for professionals and $100 for students, lunch is included. Continuing education unit (CEU) clock hours are approved for this event, as well as American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award (PRA) Category 1 Credits.
