Jesuit Basketball Spotlight Features Canisius Teams

Canisius University is proud to participate in the national Jesuit Basketball Spotlight program sponsored by Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU). As a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the Canisius University Golden Griffins men’s and women’s basketball teams competes annually against other Jesuit schools in the MAAC that include St. Peter’s College, Fairfield University, and Loyola (MD) University. This season, the men’s basketball team also hosted Jesuit university Loyola (Chicago).

The schedule of remaining games includes:

Sunday Jan. 15; St. Peter's at Canisius 2 p.m. (Men)
Sunday Jan. 15; Canisius at Fairfield 1 p.m. (Women)
Friday Jan. 27; Loyola (Maryland) at Canisius 5 p.m. (Women)
Sunday Jan. 29; Loyola (Maryland) at Canisius 2 p.m. (Men)
Thursday Feb. 2; Canisius at Loyola (Maryland) 7 p.m. (Women)
Sunday Feb. 12; Canisius at St. Peter's 2 p.m. (Women)
Sunday Feb. 19; Fairfield at Canisius 2 p.m. (Women)

The Jesuit Basketball Spotlight project is a nationwide effort to identify basketball games between Jesuit schools and, through those games, bring greater positive awareness to Jesuit education and mission. This project was developed by AJCU in response to member institutions wanting to spread the word of Jesuit higher education through the more than 90 basketball games in which Jesuit institutions play each other.
