Love is in the Air at ArtsCanisius Concert

BUFFALO, NY – ArtsCanisius presents “Love Songs for Madrigals,” a concert by Opera-Lytes, in the college’s Montante Cultural Center on Saturday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public. 

“Love Songs for Madrigals” will feature the music of well-known composers Richard Rogers, Leonard Bernstein and Gwyneth Walker. Singers from Opera-Lytes will perform love songs from the Broadway stage, love madrigals and other popular love songs. Opera-Lytes will also preview their upcoming production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s lolanthe, which will be performed in May at the Alleyway Theatre.

Based in Amherst, Opera-Lytes is a theatre company founded nearly 20 years ago and includes performers from all over Western New York. The group specializes in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas and classic Broadway musicals, and presents two or three choral concerts each season in such notable venues as the Lancaster Opera House, Alleyway Theatre, Ujima TheatreLoft and the Riviera Theatre.
