NYC-Based Singer and Songwriter Caroline Jones to Perform

BUFFALO, NY – Caroline Jones,a New York City-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer will perform at Canisius University on Friday, October 18 at 7 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.  The concert, part of Jones’ “All Aboard” tour, is free and open to the public.

Jones was classically trained by Singers’ Forum founder Andy Anselmo ’45 in the Bel Canto operatic technique, as well in the study of American Songbook and Broadway styles. Under the management of music executive Tommy Mottola, she began recording her original songs in New York City and Nashville. She has performed at such venues as Julliard, Madison Square Garden, Rose Hall at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the Russian Tea Room. Jones has shared bills with artists such as James Taylor, Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Ani DiFranco and Patti Smith.   

Jones wrote and produced the Fallen Flower album trilogy, Fallen Flower, Nice to Know You and Clean Dirt. The album features the singles “Closest Thing to You,” which hit number 28 on FMBQ’s Top 40 AC Chart, and “Nice to Know You,” which debuted on and was featured by Sirius XM’s “The Pulse.”  Her most recent album, The Heart is Smart, was recorded in Nashville with an all-star band featuring Mac McAnally. It includes the country single “Radar” and pop single “Prove You Right,” which is currently featured on Sirius XM.

Jones will also serve as “artist-in-residence” for the day at Canisius. She will perform for students and lead several songwriting and vocal performance classes for them. Jones has toured dozens of boarding schools, high schools and universities including Taft College, Berkshire College, Rhodes College, the University of Virginia and the University of Memphis.

Jones is the recipient of multiple music awards including the Independent Music Award for “Best Music Website” in 2011 and Top 5 in Radio BuzzD’s Best Band in the USA Contest.  She has been featured in Greenwich Times, the Wall Street Journal, VENTS Magazine and New York Cool.
