Buffalo, NYU.S. News & World Report’s 2020 rankings name the Canisius College Wehle School of Business (WSB) as the #1 private undergraduate business program in Western New York. This peer ranking is based on the judgments of deans and senior faculty members at peer institutions.

In addition, Canisius’ undergraduate accounting program ranked in the top 6 percent in the nation.  It is the only Western New York accounting program ranked by US News & World Report for 2020, and ranks only behind New York University in New York State.  The peer ranking placed Canisius in the top 6 percent nationally out of 504 colleges and universities.

Canisius accounting graduates are also top performers on the New York State CPA exam. Job placement for Canisius accounting majors is consistently at or near 100 percent.

U.S. News ranked Canisius’ undergraduate finance program in the top 7 percent in the nation. It is the only Western New York finance program ranked in US News and only one of four private programs ranked in New York State for 2020. The peer ranking placed Canisius in the top 7 percent nationally out of 504 colleges and universities.

Job placement for Canisius finance majors is consistently at or near 100 percent. This includes students participating in the college's Golden Griffin Fund program who are heavily recruited each year by financial firms in Western New York and throughout the U.S.

“We are proud of this national recognition, which shines a spotlight on the excellent programs offered through our business school,” says Denise Rotondo, PhD, dean of the Wehle School of Business.  “Our high ranking is a testament to our nationally-recognized programs and the expertise and dedication of our business faculty.”

To be considered for the U.S. News & World Report list of Best Undergraduate Business programs, colleges and universities must be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).  The WSB is proud to hold AACSB international accreditation, the premier accrediting agency for business programs in the world.
