Adjunct Professor
For almost 50 years, John Gurtler has enjoyed a career in sports broadcasting as an anchor, host, reporter, producer and play-by-play announcer. Currently the TV and radio voice of the National Lacrosse League’s Buffalo Bandits, he has covered the last 18 seasons and 309 consecutive games. John held similar positions with the Buffalo Sabres, Rochester Americans and Colorado Flames. In addition, he was the stadium play-by-play voice with the Buffalo Bills for 11 seasons. John won a CableACE Award for best video magazine of team coverage as producer and host. He has been an adjunct professor at Canisius University since 2016.
