Ian Lewis has been teaching in the Western New York area for over ten years. His experience includes teaching in varying urban, suburban, rural, and charter schools in grades ranging from third through eighth. During his tenure, Mr. Lewis has served as a teacher mentor in multiple schools, NYS Assessment Lead Scoring Trainer, Instructional Implementation Leader, and Behavior Specialist. However, Mr. Lewis's greatest accomplishments have come in the form of the lifelong relationships and connections that he has made with his students, families, and school communities throughout his career.

After completing his Advance Certificate in Educational Leadership from Canisius College, and securing his School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL) certificates from New York State, Mr. Lewis now serves as the Assistant Principal of Mill Middle School in the Williamsville Central School District. Even as an administrator, however, Mr. Lewis continues to teach the importance of culturally responsive teaching, restorative practices, quality and engaging instruction, and the importance of relationships within the school community. It has been a lifelong dream of Mr. Lewis to teach in higher education and help develop and mentor the next generation of educators, and he is ecstatic to return "home" to Canisius College to live out that dream.
