Catholic Studies Extended Learning Opportunities

Events

Catholic Studies events connect students, faculty, guests and community members to thoughtfully engage current events in the Church and to process the news of the day from Catholic perspectives.

Catholic Studies events: The Catholic Studies program hosts yearly events for students, faculty and anyone in the community. Faculty panels bring their many areas of expertise to current events. Guest speakers tell about their work in areas related to Catholicism or the Catholic intellectual tradition. Students and faculty gather for coffee and snacks to watch a movie or to share ideas about what's happening in the world of Catholicism today.

Independent Study

Catholic Studies students finish their program with an internship or an independent study.

Because students design their path through the curriculum with this minor, a final project or internship experience helps them to bring together everything they've learned through the minor and in their other courses. The independent study lets students complete the minor with an academically rigorous long form paper or similar project which allows them to dig deeper in one aspect of their own Catholic Studies experience.
