Classics Extended Learning Opportunities
Classics students are a diverse, welcoming group involved in a broad range of activities outside the classroom that often transcend specific academic disciplines.
On Friday afternoons, the Classics Department hosts its popular Tea@2, a chance for students, faculty, and other members of the Canisius community to meet and exchange ideas in a relaxed, informal setting.
The student-run Classics Club sponsors and co-sponsors a number of activities. Prominent among these have been poetry readings and presentations of scenes from ancient tragedies and comedies.
Eta Sigma Phi
Outstanding classics students may be chosen for induction into Eta Sigma Phi, the national honorary society for students of Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies. The Society sponsors a number of regional and national events and competitions.
