Program Description

So many different fields hold great opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to create and run their own business, from science and technology to marketing and professional services. Study entrepreneurship to learn how to create a solid business plan and obtain the skills you need to become a successful business owner.

The Entrepreneurship major is one of only a handful of such programs in the nation. Study in the program and you will be ready to get your business off the ground quickly, as the program is specifically designed to help you create your own business. The major also prepares you for a wide range of other possibilities, from acquiring an existing business or running a family enterprise to developing new products or services.

Learn to identify and evaluate business opportunities, acquire capital and other resources, and start, develop, grow, and sell a business interest. A network of successful entrepreneurs stand ready to assist you in the business planning and start-up process.


The Entrepreneurs on Campus advisory board, a group of highly successful business owners, are available to assist student entrepreneurs with planning and launching their first business.


Consecutive years that the Canisius Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization has been recognized as "Best Chapter" by the national organization.


Highly successful entrepreneurs available to mentor students with development and launch of their business plans.

High School Business Challenge

The High School Business Challenge is a unique leadership conference for faculty and students of the Entrepreneurship program to mentor local high schoolers and provide actionable advice as students compete and pitch ideas.
