The Desmond Law Society
The Desmond Law Society is named in honor of the Honorable Charles S. Desmond ’17, former Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals. It is made up of alumni and friends of Canisius from across the region and the country who have graduated from an accredited school of law or been admitted to the practice of law. The group is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of attorneys and judges. In addition to advising current pre-law students, society members help recruit students who may be interested in law, raise scholarship funds, and facilitate connections among current students, pre-law alumni and friends in the legal community.
Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity
The Canisius chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, an international law fraternity, is dedicated to helping students make informed decisions about careers in the legal profession. The fraternity focuses on a shared interest in the law and the following core values: Integrity, Compassion, Courage, Professional, Service, Diversity and Innovation.
