Learn Outside the Classroom
Hands-on experience is central to the Canisius Biology program. Students are encouraged to participate in research with faculty or to work with professionals at other local research institutions. These opportunities help develop additional skills not normally offered in undergraduate courses, and help the student apply knowledge acquired in coursework to real-world situations. Canisius biology majors achieve an outstanding rate of graduate and professional school acceptance, averaging 95 percent over the past 10 years. Recent admissions include SUNY Buffalo, Michigan State, University of Rochester, Georgetown, Medical University of South Carolina, Yale University, The Mayo Clinic, Emory University, and Cornell University.
