International Relations Student Letter

Sana adley
I am a junior studying international relations, international business, and Spanish. I can remember when I was in your shoes; applying for college, picking a major, and thinking of what the future would hold. I remember just how nervous I was and if I could go back in time, I would tell myself that coming to Canisius would be one of the best decisions I would ever make.

I have benefited from smaller class sizes and professors who truly take the time to get to know you as a person. These are professors who take the extra mile to ensure the lessons we learn are applicable to both our careers but also for our lives. They care and want to see you do well, and this is what makes the atmosphere more family-like.

One thing that has truly transformed my education at Canisius is the global education I have received. I have been able to witness for myself the tributes to “the disappeared” in Argentina and also speak with migrants and those residing on the southern border on an immersion trip with Campus Ministry. These real-world experiences have taken all that I have learned in class and made the lesson tangible. You will learn that the world is much smaller than we could have ever imagined and also that we are all more similar than previously thought. My education at Canisius has empowered me to pursue a career in advocacy and non- profit leadership following graduation.
