Intersession Classes-Graduate

Intersession Dates:
December 27, 2021 – January 17, 2022

 

Registration for the intersession begins on October 26, 2021.

Graduate Intersession Classes are open to:
• New, incoming graduate students
• Current Canisius graduate students
• Graduate students pursuing a degree at other colleges or universities who wish to take individual classes.*
• Professionals interested in enrolling in individual classes to enhance their skills and professional development.*

Billing and Financial Aid Information:
• Students registered for the intersession will be billed at a per credit hour rate on December 13, 2021 with a bill due date of January 12, 2022.
• Students who are also registered for spring 2022 courses will be billed for those spring courses on December 20, 2021 with the same bill due date of January 12, 2022  Students can pay the intersession bill and the spring 2022 bill at the same time.
 Students should be careful not to use the intersession term to reduce your spring 2022 course load, especially if it takes you below fulltime status for the spring 2022 semester and jeopardizes your financial aid eligibility as a fulltime student.
• No Canisius Academic, Canisius need based grants, Federal Aid (Pell, SEOG, Federal Loans), or NYS awards (TAP) will be awarded in the intersession semester.
• Students may use any spring 2022 financial aid refund to pay towards the intersession.
• Students may apply and be eligible for private loans for the intersession semester.

*Non-matriculated students: Students who take individual classes and do not choose to matriculate into a graduate degree program are non-matriculated students.
To apply as a non-matriculated student complete our free online application. Click here to Apply online! You will need to create an account, select graduate non-matriculated and then choose either Arts and Sciences, School of Education or the Wehle School of Business.
•         Upload your prior degree transcripts, an unofficial copy is acceptable. 
•         Under personal statement, write what courses you wish to take.
•         You do not need a resume or recommendation letters.
•         Once your application is submitted, we’ll notify you when you’re all set to register.
